Amazon Round Up - Vol. 1
Thursday, March 29, 2018
Hi, everyone!
So I just started a new page on the blog that is a collection of all of my favorite products that can be purchased from Amazon!
If you're anything like me, you will first search for everything you need EVER on Amazon.com before setting foot in a physical store.
Why is that???
Is it the two-day free shipping that just makes me feel like I'm winning?
Is it the purchase-in-one-step feature?
I don't know all of the reasons why, but I love Amazon, and I want you to love it too (if you don't already)!

So this little round up is just a list of my current Amazon Faves.
You can find all of these items under the "My Amazon Faves" tab on the blog.
You can click on the pictures of the items that you like, and you will be to be taken directly to the pages on Amazon where you can purchase the items.

Amazon Round Up - Vol. 1
A few months ago, I ordered some swimsuits from the Cupshe website. I have found their swimsuits to be so adorable, true to size, and surprisingly good quality for the low price!
However, after purchasing, I read so many reviews about Cupshe having horrible customer service.
Some customers never even received their items and some went through nightmarish return processes. As I was planning on returning one of the swimsuits I bought, this didn’t bode well for me.
I ended up just selling the unwanted swimsuit on Poshmark simply because I didn’t want to fool with a stressful return process.
BUT WHEN I FOUND OUT YOU COULD BUY THEM ON AMAZON...
I was a little frustrated that I had missed this memo!
Amazon Prime is lit-rally the greatest invention ever.
Two-day, free shipping and EASY, FREE RETURNS??? Yes please!

Moral of this story: Buy this swimsuit. And buy it from Amazon.
2. Shark Vacuum Cleaner
Are you officially old when you get excited about a vacuum cleaner? If so, I’m old and proud because this vacuum changed my life.
We adopted a new puppy back in November.
So cute.
So snuggly.
And then spring rolled around, and it’s like she was molting.
Experts simply said she was "losing her winter coat,” but this was unreal.
There was dog hair everywhere!
At the time, I had a crappy little vacuum cleaner (sorry to whoever gave that to us as a wedding gift!), and it just wasn’t getting the job done.
Enter the Shark Navigator Life-Away Professional Vacuum Cleaner (angel choir in background). This thing is a God send if you have animals…or especially hairy husbands.
It came with a few attachments, all of which are so handy. It swivels, it works great on hardwood and carpet, and it’s a breeze to empty out the canister.
It is worth every penny.

These are so in this season, and this one is budget friendly! It’s in my Amazon cart!
*hint hint, Husband!*
So far, so good!
My hair is stick straight and doesn’t have a lot of natural volume. I have noticed a difference after using this stuff.
Plus, it smells amazing!
For the furry friend in your life.
Luna loves these squeaky donuts! Unfortunately, she’s a bit destructive, so we’ve already gone through three of these.
But at $7 a pop, we haven’t broken the bank!

I bought this for our friends’ daughter’s 2nd birthday back in February. She is definitely a girly girl and loves playing with make up (and usually gets it all over the place). This Little Cosmetics play make up, however, is just pretend and is mess free!
Also, if you’re worried about your little one being exposed to the questionable chemicals that are, no doubt, in all of the cheap play make up, BUT you also don’t want them playing in your nice, expensive, grown up make up, this kit is a great option!
The birthday girl’s parents texted me the other day and let me know that she is still loving this play make up set, and they are loving that she doesn’t look like The Joker!
I purchased this for my family’s Dirty Santa party this past Christmas! I always buy a gift for Drity Santa that I wouldn't mind coming back home with just in case all of the other options suck! :D
My cousin ended up with this, and it looks so good in her home! There are 4 other colors to choose from.
Maybe I need one too….

Game Changer - Distressed Jeggings
Monday, March 19, 2018
Remember when I told you that, “Cookeville is a small town, but we do have an Old Navy, and I practically live in their clothes”?
Well, I wasn’t joking.
I went to Old Navy last weekend and almost screamed in the store when I discovered that they now have a line of jeggings with an elastic waistband (cue angel choir). If they’ve actually been around a lot longer, and I am JUST now finding out about them (plausible theory since I am always the last one to find out something good), I have been MISSING OUT!
In the last few years, I’ve made a pretty solid effort to never wear pants that have a button and zipper.
Elastic all the way!!!
What can I say?
I like to be comfortable.
And not hate my life if I eat too much.
So sue me.
So, if you’re anything like me, you have also jumped on the elastic waistband bandwagon, but you still love the way a good structured pair of skinny jeans looks.
What to do???
I’ll tell you! March on over to Old Navy and buy these jeggings!
They come in a variety of styles. The black distressed pair is ADORABLE and has fringe detail at the ankle!
DID I MENTION THAT THEY HAVE POCKETS ON THE BACK?!
To me, this takes things to another level.
A lot of times, I'll avoid wearing leggings if my shirt isn’t long enough because I just feel so exposed. But for some reason, pockets erase all of my fears and make me feel like there’s another layer of safety between my booty and everyone’s eyes.
And these jeggings are structured. They aren’t your average cotton legging with a fake denim print. Therefore, you don’t get that awkward camel toe inner thigh bunching.
Thank goodness.
All around, these were a win for me! I wore them this past weekend (twice), and they were just as comfortable as I expected. I will probably never be caught in real jeans again.
Let me know what you think of these jeggings in the comments below!
*Disclaimer: Prior to this distressed jegging encounter, my favorite skinny jeans were the Legging Jeans from Gap Factory. I still LOVE these jeans and may still be seen wearing them when attending an event where I don’t plan on eating. :)

Throwback Thursday - Ruffle Swimsuit
Thursday, March 15, 2018
Since I’m still getting started on this blog, I’m just kind of grabbing items from my closet that I’d like to showcase until I get the hang of it.
So, since it’s Thursday, how about a little throwback!
"What do I do with my hands?"
These photos are from a trip Greg and I took back in November to the Dominican Republic! We stayed at the Excellence El Carmen with some great friends, and we had a blast! It was, by far, one of the best vacations I’ve ever taken.
I wanted to show you all this swimsuit, though, because it is
BACK IN STOCK at Old Navy
(I know, I know, I’m obsessed),
and it’s only $30!

These pictures don’t show it very well (I didn’t know I’d be blogging when these were taken), but this little one-shoulder swimmy is a classic. It’s figure flattering, has adorable ruffle detail, and keeps you covered (nobody wants a nip slip wardrobe malfunction while snorkeling) without being frumpy.
Snag one of these suits before they’re gone. It will be perfect for summer!
Me pretending this is my everyday life.
If you try this suit or stay at an Excellence Resort, let me know what you think in the comments!

Spring Forward???
Monday, March 12, 2018
Soooooo, yesterday it was in the 60s and so sunny outside, and this morning I woke up to snow on the ground.
Y tho?
I did not see this coming.
Anyway, since I've had to break them out again today, I thought this would be the perfect time to share with you one of my greatest purchases…maybe ever.
I bought these Athleta Polartec Power Stretch tights back in January, and I’ve barely worn anything else since then. Since I’m a southern girl, I don’t handle cold temps very well. I mean, I turn my heated seats on in the car if it’s 50 degrees. #extra
These tights are FLEECE LINED (praise hands). Need I say more? They are obviously perfect for cold weather running/hiking/outdoor sports. However, I’m lazy I prefer to wear them as “everyday” leggings or curled up on the couch with my Luna Bug.
Athleta can seem a bit pricey, but the quality of their items is so so good! They have all sorts of performance wear, and they have swim suits and casual clothes as well. All of their products last forever! I still have a running vest that I bought from Athleta almost 10 years ago. You should definitely check it out!
Also, I’ve linked the other items or items that are very similar to the ones that I’m wearing in this photo. I’m a fitness instructor, and I’m still wearing the clothes I wore when I taught my class this morning. Oopsie!
My shoes are Adidas and are sooooo comfy! The insole is a memory foam material. They can be found at a lot of different retail stores including Rack Room Shoes and Kohl’s just to name a few. They also come in several colors including a pretty maroon and my favorite, pink!
My lavender top is from Old Navy (surprise surprise), and it’s a workout staple for me. This keyhole back performance top is brought out every season in different colors! I have 3 of my own.
And finally, my jacket was actually a birthday gift from my sister. The brand is 90 Degree by Reflex, and it came from TJ Maxx (another Godsend for Cookeville). I have linked a similar item from Athleta!
During these last few weeks of cold weather, try out those fleece lined leggings, and let me know what you think!

Hi, there! My name is Abby Lucius, and I am a southern gal by birth and a nurse by trade.
When I am out of my scrubs, I am a fashion enthusiast who loves to find a great deal!
I wanted to start this blog as a way to encourage other "everyday girls" like me how to shop on a budget and still look fabulous and feel confident!
I wanted to start this blog as a way to encourage other "everyday girls" like me how to shop on a budget and still look fabulous and feel confident!
I'm excited to start this journey and interact with all of the other style fanatics out there.
Eeeeek! I'm so excited to finally be starting this! This is something that I've wanted to try for a while now. I can't believe I'm finally taking the plunge!
Since this is my first post, a lot of the items I'm wearing are things that I already had in my closet. Unfortunately, some of them aren't available anymore, but I've linked items that are very similar!
Cookeville is a small town, but we do have an Old Navy, and I practically live in their clothes. This field jacket is from there. I bought it a few years ago, but I've seen a similar option in their stores this spring....and it comes in PINK! This striped tunic is also from Old Navy. I bought it back in the fall, and it was a staple all winter long. It's a great transition piece from season to season. And it covers your butt when you wear leggings. Need I say more?
These adorable scalloped leggings, however, are NEW (does anyone else think I just sounded like Martha Mae Whovier from The Grinch just then??)! They're from Target and fit true to size! They are a great everyday legging or can be used for workouts.
My necklace is from the LOFT Outlet this season. My earrings are from Urban Outfitters (gosh, I love a gold hoop). My watch is Nine West, and my husband bought it for me on Amazon for Christmas a few years ago.
I love to shop local, so my bag is from a small business in Cookeville called Select Designs. They specialize in screen printing and embroidery. There are a ton of similar options on Etsy.com, Jane.com, etc.!
Finally, my shoes are Vans that I bought at Famous Footwear a few years back, but there are a TON of similar options out there!
Let me know what you think about this outfit in the comments!
